Job Description
The Mine Operator is responsible for operating basic mining equipment and assisting in daily mining activities under direct supervision.
- Operator Equipment Smoothly, Safely and Efficiently and Follow Mining Plans.
- Accountable for managing ownership area (Haul Truck Operators - Haul Road Condition), (Excavator Operators - Pit Area around Excavator including spotting of Trucks), (Dozer Operator - Dump area).
- Complete All Required Reports Accurately and Timely Including - PRE-SHIFT Inspections, Area Examinations, Operator Equipment Report.
- Support and Move Safety Culture Forward by immediately reporting Hazards, Conduct SLAM prior to performing each task, Performing BBS Observations, following safety Procedures and participating in Tail Gate Meetings.
- Task Train and/or train co-workers on equipment.
- Follow Environmental Policies including reporting/controlling spills, installing and maintaining BMP's, Taking Water Samples as necessary, and treating low PH water.
- In addition to the above, tasks and projects may be added on a temporary or permanent basis as deemed necessary by management.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum of high school education or equivalent.
- High level of safety and quality.
- Ability to multi-task at a fast-pace (at times), work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.)
- Good problem-solving skills.
- CDL license is a plus, but not required.
- Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) Knowledge - Preferred.
- Forklift experience - Preferred.
- Computer Software - Preferred.
- Warehouse experience - Preferred.
