Heavy Mobile Equipment Operator I, Wet
Job Description
The Heavy Equipment Operator operates basic heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers, and excavators safely under supervision.
- Safe operation of Loader/backhoe/forklift.
- Handling and/or moving material.
- Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, etc.
- Daily maintenance of equipment.
- Identify, report and correct hazards.
- Perform tasks maintaining all health, safety and environmental rules and ensure all work is done in a manner which enhances the safety of the work environment.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma, general education diploma (GED), or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of the excavator/backhoe loading requirements; load charts; critical picks.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
- Valid equipment operator certification or ability to obtain.
- Effectively communicate to all site personnel.
- High level of safety and quality.
- Ability to multi-task at a fast-pace (at times), work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.).
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) Knowledge - Preferred.
- Forklift experience - Preferred.
- Computer Software - Preferred.
- Warehouse experience - Preferred.
