We are recruiting for a Senior Category Manager (m/f/d) at GXO Logistics, supporting our logistics sites in Germany - Dorsten

 

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Define, own, and execute category strategies including spend analysis, market intelligence, sourcing strategies, and supplier segmentation
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and manage strategic supplier partnerships to drive performance, innovation, and long‑term value
  • Innovation & Agile Procurement: Drive category‑driven procurement innovation, delivering measurable savings with EBITDA impact (hard savings)
  • Data Management & Analytics: Lead category‑level data analysis, leveraging insights to optimize cost and supplier performance
  • Performance Management: Develop and manage category and supplier KPIs to ensure procurement excellence
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Finance, Engineering, and global GXO procurement teams to align category strategies and synergies
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate category‑specific supply and commercial risks
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead complex, strategic negotiations and contract frameworks
  • Transform operational buying into tactical and strategic Category Management, implementing GXO global standards across German sites

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • 5-8+ years of experience in Category Management or Strategic Procurement, preferably in a large, multi‑site or logistics environment
  • Proven track record of owning and delivering category strategies with financial impact
  • Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills, including TCO and savings tracking
  • Able to work in a diverse environment and gain exposure to an international working environment
  • Fluent German and English (spoken and written)
  • Self‑driven, resilient, and able to operate at senior stakeholder level
