We are actively seeking a dynamic Crane Aftermarket Specialist to join our Eastern Region team! Located out of our Indianapolis location and concentrating on the Indianapolis area and a 90 mile radius from there, this position is responsible for generating revenue through the sale of aftermarket products and services for overhead cranes, hoists, lifting equipment, and related material handling systems. This position develops and maintains customer relationships while identifying opportunities for preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, replacement parts, crane upgrades, and service agreements. The specialist serves as a trusted advisor to customers by recommending solutions that improve equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.  Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers through regular in-person visits, phone calls, and electronic communication. 
  • Generate new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding existing customer accounts. 
  • Develop and expand recurring revenue through preventive maintenance agreements, inspection contracts, and long-term service partnerships. 
  • Review crane inspection reports promptly and proactively contact customers to quote and close recommended repairs and corrective actions. 
  • Prepare accurate and timely quotations for repairs, inspections, parts, maintenance agreements, and other aftermarket services. 
  • Follow up on all quotations to maximize sales opportunities and improve quote conversion. 
  • Collaborate with Service Managers, Technicians, Parts personnel, and Operations to ensure customer expectations are met and projects are completed successfully. 
  • Promote additional company products and services, including rigging, engineered lifting solutions, dock and door equipment, fall protection, and other industrial service offerings when appropriate. 
  • Develop and execute an annual territory growth plan focused on increasing market share, customer retention, and revenue growth. 
  • Maintain regular customer contact through planned sales calls and site visits to identify opportunities, strengthen relationships, and provide proactive service solutions. 
  • Maintain accurate customer records, opportunities, call activity, quotations, and sales forecasts within the company's CRM system. All customer interactions are expected to be documented in a timely manner. 
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. 
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate scheduling, communication, and project execution. 
  • Represent the company professionally at customer facilities, industry events, and networking opportunities. 
  • Demonstrate and promote safe work practices while representing the company at customer facilities and comply with all company and customer safety requirements. 
  • Maintain a commitment to continuous learning by participating in product, application, safety, and competitive training. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and achieve established sales and profitability goals. 
  • Utilize CRM software to document customer interactions, opportunities, forecasts, and sales activities. 
  • Coordinate project schedules with service, engineering, and operations teams. 
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve issues promptly. 
  • Stay current on industry standards, OSHA regulations, and crane safety requirements. 
  • Participate in trade shows, customer events, and networking opportunities as needed. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

 Essential skills and experience:

  • Associate degree in business, sales, engineering, industrial technology, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered. 
  • Three or more years of sales experience, preferably in industrial equipment, overhead cranes, hoists, material handling, lifting equipment or related industries. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand industrial equipment and maintenance services. 
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and customer service skills. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software. 
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, service reports, and equipment specifications.
  • Must be comfortable working at certain heights and have no fear of heights.
  • Must be comfortable using a scissor lift, sometimes as high as 30+ feet high or ladders to take measurements for quotes and verify installation. 
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory. May occasionally drive up to 200 miles in a day to and from customer locations. 
  • Commitment to company vision and mission. 
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Physical demands: Employee is required to frequently stand, walk, talk, listen, and use feet to operate machinery. Employee is required to frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, including computer, presentation equipment, and other office equipment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds to include a computer work bad and its contents. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to visit industrial facilities, including walking, climbing stairs, and occasionally climbing ladders or accessing elevated work areas. Ability to safely work in manufacturing and construction environments while following all required safety procedures. Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to noisier shop environments and may be exposed to unusual environments at customer sites. When performing duties of this job, it is a requirement to wear Personal Protective Equipment whenever appropriate.
