Job Description Summary

In this role you will be responsible for technical accounting and tax compliance, financial and operational internal controls, and process simplification to deliver accurate financial reporting and analysis for two Polish entities: Avio Polska and Polonia Aero. You will apply best practices, understand how your area integrates with other functions, and stay aware of market dynamics and what differentiates us from our competitors.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Overseeing accounting operations and maintaining effective collaboration with centralized service teams (AP, Cash, Fixed Assets, FX, and Transfer Pricing), including leading regular meetings and checkpoints.
  • Ensuring that all statutory regulatory filings are completed timely and efficient manner and in compliance with Polish regulatory requirements.
  • Overseeing tax settlements, liaising with tax authorities, and cooperating with tax advisors, while providing overall supervision of tax-related activities.
  • Preparation of group reporting package under IFRS.
  • Leading the Stat to GAP/IFRS reconciliation process.
  • Cooperation with external and internal auditors.
  • Participation in monthly, quarterly and year-end closing process.
  • Participation in process of obtaining, managing and settling of government grant.
  • Increasing a key focal role for Controllership, improving the operational efficiency and speeding up the technical harmonization and process alignment with Avio Aero parent Company and GE Aerospace HQ.
  • Acting as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent knowledge
  • A qualification as a Public Certified Auditor/Accountant (Biegły Rewident) or ACCA certification would be an asset
  • Willing to travel for a short period
  • Fluent in Polish and English.
  • EU Work Permit

Desired Characteristics

  • Financial reporting experience in industrial multinational environment and/or big 4 audit firms.
  • Deep knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and Polish accounting standards (PAS); US GAAP knowledge will be a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations, including transfer pricing rules.
  • Experience in statutory financial statements and group reporting package preparation.
  • Clear communication skill – ability to articulate problems and solutions at different levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience of managing relationships in a complex matrix environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrated commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Advance computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • ERP systems knowledge (SAP).
