Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the GM Philippines office three times per week, or at another frequency dictated by the business (such as training, workshops, team engagement, etc.) or as needed during Month-End Closing peak days. Standard schedule is 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with flexibility to slide earlier or later depending on meetings with global teams.


The Role
The Senior Analyst – Fixed Assets, Product Costing & Inventory is a subject-matter expert responsible for executing and supporting complex accounting, closing, reconciliation, reporting, and issue-resolution activities across Fixed Asset and Product Costing & Inventory processes. The role requires strong operational accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex transactions across GM systems while coordinating closely with global teams and relevant stakeholders.

What You'll Do
•    Act as a functional SME and quality gate for complex Fixed Asset and Product Costing & Inventory activities.
•    Perform work independently within established procedures, policies, and broad guidelines, while appropriately escalating high-risk, unusual, or policy-sensitive matters.
•    Provide guidance, coaching, and cross-training to analysts and peers on process execution, issue resolution, and quality expectations.
•    Lead or significantly contribute to process improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives that improve control, quality, and efficiency.
•    Represent the team in discussions with business units, global finance partners, controllers, and other stakeholders on accounting, reporting, and operational issues.


By ensuring accurate accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and issue follow-through, the Senior Analyst supports:
•    Compliance with GM policies, US GAAP / Local GAAP requirements, and internal control expectations.
•    Timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close deliverables.
•    Strong internal controls, audit readiness, and reliable financial reporting.
•    Sustainable process improvements that reduce defects, improve cycle time, and enhance stakeholder confidence.

Specific duties related to this position include, but are not limited to, the following:


1. Fixed Asset and Product Costing & Inventory Accounting Operations
•    Perform operational execution and support from a GL perspective for Fixed Asset and Product Costing & Inventory activities.
•    Support monthly, quarter-end, annual closing, and reporting requirements in accordance with US GAAP / Local GAAP.
•    Prepare journal entries based on financial information and ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of deliverables.
•    Prepare schedules, reports, analysis, and other required work products to support accounting and close requirements.
•    Support Fixed Asset accounting activities including capitalization, depreciation, transfers, retirements, reconciliations, and related reporting in accordance with GM policies and accounting requirements.
•    Support Product Costing & Inventory accounting activities including close support, reconciliations, analysis, reporting, and issue resolution related to inventory and costing processes.

2. Reconciliation, Analysis, and Issue Resolution
•    Perform and review account reconciliation activities, ensuring balances are supported, reconciling items are identified, and issues are followed through to resolution.
•    Analyze and interpret financial and operational data to support reporting requirements, issue resolution, and business decisions.
•    Investigate and help resolve non-routine issues in systems, processes, and accounting activities.
•    Handle nearly every standard or typical request independently and escalate high-risk, highly unusual, or policy-sensitive matters as appropriate.
•    Use sound judgment to determine the appropriate course of action within broad guidelines and defined procedures.

3. Controls, Compliance, and Audit Support
•    Maintain and promote an environment of effective internal controls and compliance with company and regulatory requirements, including SOX, record retention, and audit standards.
•    Apply appropriate GM policies, accounting guidance, and internal control requirements to resolve a variety of issues.
•    Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to requests, and ensuring audit-ready support.
•    Raise suspected accounting or control-related issues promptly and work with stakeholders to resolve them quickly.

4. Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
•    Partner with key stakeholders to secure information relevant to Fixed Asset and Product Costing & Inventory accounting and coordinate timely completion of deliverables.
•    Interact with internal and external stakeholders, including impacted Business Units, Global Controller’s Team, Global Finance Teams, and other relevant partners, to ensure requirements are understood and met.
•    Collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders across teams, including team members one to two levels above, to coordinate actions, integrate inputs, and support solutions.
•    Adapt communication style to different stakeholders and situations of moderate complexity to support alignment and resolution within own area.
•    Provide operational updates, highlight risks, and communicate status of open items to leadership and business partners as needed.

5. Continuous Improvement, Knowledge Building, and Systems
•    Identify and recommend process improvement and automation opportunities to drive quality, efficiency, and compliance.
•    Collaborate with global teams on standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
•    Support automation and process redesign efforts, including troubleshooting of systems and process issues to help implement sustainable improvements.
•    Develop and maintain strong functional knowledge in Fixed Asset and Product Costing & Inventory accounting processes through collaboration, study of GM policies and procedures, and use of relevant technical references.
•    Apply SAP and related systems knowledge as needed; knowledge of SAP t-codes, material module flow, and asset module flow is an advantage.
•    Demonstrate a very good understanding of the processes and procedures relevant to Fixed Asset and Product Costing & Inventory work.
•    Work under general supervision with limited guidance and direction.
•    Exercise independent judgment and decision-making on significant matters within defined procedures, established practices, and broad guidelines.
•    Maintain frequent contact with stakeholders outside the immediate work group to accomplish tasks.
•    Demonstrate a strong focus on process improvement to drive quality accounting, controls, and compliance.
•    Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and special projects, including LEAN / Six Sigma activities, within own area of responsibility.
•    Deliver work with impact primarily within the immediate work area and, at times, across the broader function.
•    Support team capability building through coaching, knowledge sharing, and reinforcement of standard ways of working.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
•    Strong accounting foundation and relevant experience in a multinational shared service environment.
•    Experience in Fixed Asset and/or Product Costing & Inventory accounting processes is strongly preferred.
•    Good understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, and SOX / Internal Control requirements.
•    Experience in month-end close, journal entry preparation, reconciliations, reporting, and issue resolution.
•    Working knowledge of SAP and other GM systems as required for the assigned role; knowledge of asset flow, material flow, and relevant SAP transactions is an advantage.
•    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills within established policies and procedures.
•    Experience in process implementation, project execution, continuous improvement, and process re-engineering.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
•    Demonstrates accountability through physical presence at the office as required by team or organizational needs such as workshops, training and development, and office events.
