3000 Radiology General
Schedule: 34 hours per week. M/T/TH 3p-11:30p and F 7p-7:30a. Weekend rotation- once every 6 weeks. On call. Holidays- average of 2 per year.
About the Position
The Radiography Technologist supports the Reid Health Mission, Vision, Values, and Key Service Behaviors. The Radiography Technologist performs radiographic diagnostic imaging examinations on patients per physician/provider orders with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
Overview of Responsibilities
Competently operates radiographic equipment
Accurately evaluates requests for radiographic procedures
Obtains patient history and symptoms
Performs radiographic procedures per provider orders
Provides care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served
Provides explanation and instruction to patients regarding radiographic procedures
Demonstrates effective communication with patients and families
Accurately performs appropriate documentation
Follows radiation safety policies and guidelines
Takes responsibility for personal radiation safety and exposure monitoring
Appropriately uses radiation protection devices
Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement activities
Assists in the clinical instruction of radiography students

Education & Experience

Must be certified or eligible to be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Additional experience as a licensed Radiography Technologist after completing the

Radiologic Technologist license issued by the Indiana Department of Health
Certification and Registry in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT.
Current in BLS certification.
