PURPOSE Manages all aspects of a structural component manufacturing operation to achieve operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and profitable growth through effective leadership of production, sales support, inventory management, safety, quality, and financial performance

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the overall sales, operations, production, delivery, purchasing, and inventory control of the location

Oversees all manufacturing operations, including truss production, loading, shipping, and maintenance, ensuring production schedules, labor productivity, quality standards, and operational performance goals are achieved

Oversees the daily operations of the location and utilizes operational reporting and key performance indicators to monitor performance, identify trends, and implement corrective actions as needed

Maintains full profit and loss accountability for the operation, including budgets, labor costs, inventory investments, capital expenditures, and margin improvement initiatives

Oversees inventory control and supply chain activities, ensuring appropriate inventory levels of lumber, connector plates, hardware, and other raw materials to support production demands and inventory turn objectives

Recommends capital improvements based on forecasted demand, production capacity, equipment performance, and operational requirements

Establishes cost-effective equipment and facility maintenance programs and recommends equipment replacements or upgrades as necessary

Promotes a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, company safety standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements through training, audits, and proactive risk management initiatives

Partners with truss designers, engineers, and production teams to ensure structural components meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements while managing corrective actions and process improvements

Collaborates with sales teams and key customers to support growth initiatives, resolve escalated customer concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction through quality products and on-time delivery performance

Involved in the recruiting, hiring, training, and development of employees

Creates and enforces staffing strategies that support operational needs, reduce turnover, and strengthen organizational performance

Leads, develops, and evaluates production, maintenance, shipping, and administrative personnel through effective staffing, performance management, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives

Communicates and enforces company policies, procedures, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements as they pertain to the daily functions of all departments and fosters a productive work environment

Responsible for budget accountability, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and the overall financial performance of the location while performing other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise in various departments

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

Bachelor's degree (B

A.) from four-year college or university; four years related managerial experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Must have prior experience in building materials industry

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Truss manufacturing operations Structural component manufacturing Engineered wood products Building materials manufacturing Lumberyard operations Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or 5S methodologies Blueprint reading and engineering-driven manufacturing environments P&L ownership and financial management COMPETENCIES To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate general competence in all of the Corporate Success Factors, as well as the following job-related competencies
