Job Description
As an integral member of the Plant Management Team, the EH&S Manager will support and advise site management with regard to the Safety Management system. He/She will formulate a proactive, local EHS strategy that drives the plant to become sustainable, healthy and safe operationally. The EH&S Manager will lead the effort to eliminate, prevent, or reduce the occurrence of safety, health and medical issues.
The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager will act as a change agent to accelerate best practice sharing within the facility. He/She will serve as the site primary regulatory agency liaison and approval for all agency communications representative for Health and Safety.

Schedule: Monday- Friday working first shift, with flexibility as needed to meet plant needs.
Work Location: 495 S 99th Ave, Tolleson, AZ 85353
Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $93k to $158k Annually with additional bonus potential

Position Responsibilities:
Works as a Subject Matter Expert to development and implement site specific policies and programs to ensure the facility is in compliance with safety and health requirements in accordance with federal/state/local regulatory requirements. (OSHA, EPA and Foods standards)
Manage daily activities to ensure interaction with facility management team, team leaders, and facility employees in order to increase awareness and education levels with regards to safe and compliant work
Assures the plants injury prevention plans are created and executed.
Analyze incident data to identify trends and incident types that can be prevented.
Perform job site analysis to determine employee as well as a property exposure, and institute safe work practices
Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual safety inspections, document findings, and implement corrective actions
Maintain all site required documentation related to safety issues and safety programs (i.e. accident reports, inspection reports, corrective action logs, training records)
Responsible for hazardous waste control and disposal activities including training, collection, disposal, and records maintenance and for conservation programs within the organization.
Coordinate Environmental Duties including; SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan), NPDES (National Pollution Discharge Elimination System) Permit, Internal/External Environmental Audits, Air Pollution Permit, Air Quality Inspections, Dust Collector Reports, Hazardous Waste, TIER II Report Corporate Environmental Audit and present annual training.
Monitor and support security-related events
Participate and manage local risk/claims management program.
Support and participate in Management Operating Structure to activate improvement
Lead the acceleration of employee ownership over safety
Supports all plant food safety initiatives to ensure quality and food safety standards are being met.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree Required – Type: Engineering or Industrial Technology, Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety or related
3+ years of progressive experience in environment, safety, and sustainability management
Strong knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA, hazard communications, accident investigation and safety training methods)
Knowledgeable of industry best practice regarding safety and environmental approaches with PSM & RMP safety practices.
Master's degree preferred;
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Experience working in a manufacturing facility.
Food and Beverage experience preferred
Ability to influence all levels of the organization from shop floor through plant leadership team
Preferred Attributes
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Physical Activity/Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach, stretch, stoop, bend, and use hands and fingers. Also, the employee may be required to lift up to 55lbs. This position requires the employee to be able to read, write, and communicate orally in English.
