Job Description Summary
The Individual Giving Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, development, and marketing of general membership and annual giving for Reynolda House and Reynolda Gardens. Working closely with the Director of Advancement and External Affairs, this position is responsible for achieving annual revenue goals. This position provides strategies, leadership, creativity, and resourcefulness to ensure the growth and success of Reynolda’s individual giving programs.*This position is not eligible for sponsorship of non-immigrant or immigrant visa status through Wake Forest University. Job Description
Essential Functions:
● Responsible for all member communications, including mailings/phone/online/in person solicitations for new members, member upgrades, and member renewals for the Museum and Gardens.
● Ensures that all membership donations are acknowledged in a professional and timely manner and that all membership data records are accurate and up-to-date.
● Assists the Assistant Director of Advancement Operations in gift processing and performs these duties as needed.
● Prepares weekly, monthly, and annual status reports and membership level analyses.
● Establishes an exemplary member services/customer service program, resolving any member
problems quickly and professionally, resulting in continually improving member retention rates, and advancing membership growth in all categories.
● Collaborates with Assistant Director of Advancement Operations to enhance attendance and on-site membership sales.
● In collaboration with the Marketing team, implements direct mail and other acquisition strategies to maximize membership growth and community involvement in the Museum.
● Collaborates on advancement events with the Assistant Director of Advancement Operations and Director of Advancement and External Affairs and provides administrative and on-site support prior to and during certain events.
● Collaborates with the Grants and Stewardship Manager on administrative needs for the cultivation, acquisition, and stewardship of Reynolda donors.
Other Functions:
● Works with staff in the Teaching and Learning Department to ensure membership development is an important factor in program planning.
● Works with the Executive Director, Director of Advancement and External Affairs, and Director of Reynolda Gardens to evaluate giving levels to benefit the Museum and Gardens.
● Supports Director of Advancement and External Affairs in coordinating materials for capital, endowment and planned giving campaign.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
● BS/BA required, plus membership and/or annual fund experience with demonstrated success in planning and implementing a goal-driven, results-oriented program.
● Ability to motivate and create enthusiasm museum-wide regarding membership, and be comfortable interacting with people at all levels, both internal and external to the Museum.
● Sense of urgency and commitment to accomplish goals.
● Positive and helpful attitude in interacting with members and volunteers on the phone and in person.
● Strong organizational and communication skills.
● Ability to write clearly and persuasively.
● Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail.
● Digital Fluency: Experience using CRM systems, along with Microsoft Office 365, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides.
● An appreciation for the visual arts and cultural history, and enthusiasm for furthering the mission of the Museum and Gardens.
● Ability to work a flexible schedule to include occasional evening and weekend hours.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
● Relevant corporate client/customer relationship experience
● Experience with Altru or Blackbaud products
● Experience in customer service, development, and sales
