Job Description

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate machine learning models for defined use cases within LabPilot
• Develop data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training pipelines
• Integrate AI components into existing software architecture
• Work with structured and semi-structured laboratory data
• Support deployment, testing, and monitoring of AI features in production
• Collaborate with global teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Participate in code reviews and follow established engineering best practices
• Assist in performance optimization and troubleshooting of AI modules
• Document technical approaches and maintain clear model traceability

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field
• 5-10 years of hands-on experience in software development with exposure to machine learning
• Practical experience with Python and common ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Understanding of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
• Experience working with APIs and integrating ML components into applications
• Familiarity with data handling, preprocessing, and model evaluation techniques
• Basic understanding of software engineering principles (version control, testing, CI/CD concepts)

Preferred Characteristics

• Exposure to LLM-based applications, prompt engineering, or generative AI use cases
• Experience working with scientific, analytical, or laboratory data
• Understanding of cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and deployment pipelines
• Strong problem-solving ability with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset
• Ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment
• Good communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly
• Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced product environment
