Help keep our center shining! As an Environmental Services Technician, you play a key role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming space where participants, staff, and visitors feel comfortable the moment they walk in. From keeping rooms spotless and supplies organized to safely using cleaning equipment and following infection-control practices, your work helps protect everyone’s health and brighten the day for those we serve. Key Responsibilities
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain all facility areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, offices, and common spaces.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and waste removal.
- Support laundry services, supply management, and safe handling of chemicals in accordance with infection control and safety procedures.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including minor repairs, basic upkeep, and ensuring facility systems are functioning properly.
- Maintain safe and well-kept indoor and outdoor environments, including grounds care, snow removal, and facility organization.
- Monitor equipment and report major repairs or safety concerns, while assisting with room setups, furniture moves, and pest management.
- Maintain compliance with AFC licensing requirements, OSHA standards, infection-control guidelines, and facility policies.
- Ensure all walkways, exits, and common areas remain clean and free of hazards.
- Report accidents, unsafe conditions, maintenance concerns, or resident-related issues immediately.
- Manage and support emergency preparedness procedures and facility safety drills.
- Interact respectfully and professionally with participants, families, visitors, and staff.
- Respect participant privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain a positive and team-oriented work environment.
- Assist with additional facility support duties as assigned by your supervisor
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Experience in housekeeping/custodial work, required.
- One (1) year of experience working with the frail elderly, required.
- CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, self-directed and highly organized.
- Knowledge of safety regulations for handling cleaning supplies and maintaining a safe environment.
- Ability to lift, move, and carry equipment or supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
