Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a member of the Accounting Team, you will perform grant and accounting duties including transaction and analysis of grant and account receivable, general ledger and other related financial tasks needed for accurate and timely billing submissions to the funders of grant contracts.
EXPECTED POSTIVE OUTCOMES:
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of general ledger and sub-ledger balances at each period-end.
- Improve efficiency and accuracy by enhancing analytical capabilities and streamlining accounting processes.
- Strengthen cross-functional collaboration within the accounting team to support integrated financial management.
- Maintain high-quality financial records, contributing to organizational credibility and audit readiness
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Execute full-cycle accounting functions, including journal entries, accruals, allocations, and account reconciliations.
- Analyze and corrected general ledger discrepancies through reclassifications and adjusting entries, ensuring financial accuracy.
- Manage grant and contract billing, preparing and submitting invoices, financial reports, and supporting documentation.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and maintained revenue schedules tied to grant and contract activity.
- Maintain comprehensive grant documentation, including budgets, amendments, reconciliations, and billing files.
- Produce SEFA and SESA schedules in compliance with federal and state reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure compliance, accurate billing, and timely collections.
- Contribute to process improvements, special projects, and overall accounting operations.
- Assist with additional responsibilities and/or ad-hoc tasks as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting, finance, or business administration from accredited four-year college or university
YEARS OF EXPEREINCE:1-3 years of experience in accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
