Software Engineer, Associate

Description
The Associate Software Engineer role supports the Technology Platform team's ability to deliver and maintain enterprise software that meets customer needs. This role adds essential development capacity to execute on product roadmaps, ensure system reliability, and support agile delivery practices — directly contributing to the organization's operational performance and digital growth objectives.
A Typical Day in the Life Includes:
- Design, develop, test and maintain web applications
- Fixes any reported bugs while complying with the SDLC processes and coding standards.
- Creates/codes based on requirements/design
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.
- Performs maintenance and enhancement of existing product modules.
- Conducts technical analysis, root cause analysis and other standard processes in the SDLC.
- Participate in technical discussions and learn from experienced engineers.
- Identify and resolve technical issues with guidance from senior team members.
- Continuously improve existing systems and processes through creative problem-solving.
- Engage in agile software development practices (Scrum/Kanban).
- Contribute to a culture of performance, reliability, and security across the product lifecycle.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or similar in software engineering, information technology, or computer science.
- Understanding of OOP concepts with working expertise in Java/Python or an equivalent OOP based language
- Understanding of REST, DBMS concepts, Data Structures and Algorithms.
- Experience in mobile or web applications programming.
- Comfortable in using Integrated Development Environment (i.e. Visual Studio, Eclipse, etc.)
- Ability to develop and interpret technical plans/designs
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills and self-reliant attitude
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Exposure to basic cloud concepts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.• Experience or familiarity in AWS is a plus
