Job Description

- Parramatta CBD office location, with flexible working arrangements available – The team currently attends set days in the office on Thursdays, Fridays and every second Tuesday
- Salary ranges from $113,574 to $125,720 p.a. plus super and annual leave loading
About the role
We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive professional to support the effective operation of the Audit team, and the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC).
In this role, you’ll be the engine behind seamless audit governance, keeping processes on track, stakeholders aligned, and decisions well-documented and actioned.
You will:
- Drive end-to-end coordination of ARC meetings – Schedule, set agendas, prepare and distribute papers, capture minutes, and track actions
- Ensure the ARC operates in line with its charter and remains compliant with relevant policies, legislations and governance frameworks
- Build strong working relationships with ARC members, senior executives and audit teams to keep communication flowing and priorities aligned
- Maintain and update the Internal Audit Annual Work Plan to reflect priorities and progress
- Support the preparation of high-quality reports and briefings for the Secretary, executives and ARC
- Assist operational management, including financial, budgeting, stakeholder liaison and procurement activities

About you
- Proven experience in committee management/secretariat functions
- Background in audit, risk or governance, with knowledge of end-to-end audit lifecycle and TPP 20-08 Internal Audit and Risk Management Policy for the General Government Sector
- Confident in engaging with senior stakeholders and providing high-level support to ARC committee members
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate, time-sensitive documentation under tight deadlines
- Strong data and systems capability, including advanced Excel and audit and risk software, with a proven ability to translate data into valuable insights. Experience with Power BI would be highly regarded.
- Quick learner with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in Committee management and governance in a large complex organisation
- Hold a valid clearance to work with Children (Working with Children Check) for paid employment or willing to obtain one
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
