Location: Winter Park, FL
Industry: Family Office
Reports to: Director of Accounting

About the Role

Our client, an individual family office, is seeking a detail-oriented Trust & Estate Accounting Senior Associate to support trust administration, entity accounting, and individual tax-related reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong foundational background in tax or accounting—especially someone with 2–5 years of experience in public accounting (trusts, estates, or private client) who is looking to transition into a dynamic family office environment.

This role provides exposure to complex entity structures, intercompany activity, trust reporting, and high-net-worth individual financial matters.

Key Responsibilities

Trust & Estate Accounting

  • Prepare and maintain trust-level financial statements, schedules, and reporting packages.

  • Assist with trust administration including distributions, contributions, and reconciliations.

  • Support the preparation of materials for estate planning, trust reviews, and annual meetings.

Entity & Intercompany Accounting

  • Prepare journal entries, intercompany reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance across multiple entities.

  • Assist with monthly/quarterly closes for trusts, partnerships, and holding entities.

  • Maintain clear documentation supporting transactions and internal controls.

Tax Support

  • Compile and organize data for individual, trust, and entity tax filings in coordination with external tax advisors.

  • Review K‑1s, 1099s, and other tax documents for accuracy.

  • Assist with tracking estimated tax payments, distributions, and related reporting.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare routine and ad-hoc financial reports for family members and senior leadership.

  • Support investment and cash-flow reporting as needed.

  • Assist with year-end reporting packages and projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • 2–5 years of experience in public accounting or private client services strongly preferred (trusts, estates, HNW individuals, or partnership tax experience is ideal).

  • Strong understanding of tax, financial statements, and accounting principles.

  • Experience with multi-entity accounting or intercompany activity is highly valued.

  • Proficiency in Excel; ability to learn new systems quickly (Yardi or similar is a plus).

  • Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality, and professionalism.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a small-team environment.
