Job Description

RINA is currently recruiting for a ME&I Legal Affairs Area Manager to join its office in Abu Dhabi within the International Legal Affairs Division.​

Mission

The Legal Affairs Manager is responsible for ensuring legal compliance and risks’ mitigations by providing expert legal guidance, drafting and negotiating robust contracts, and managing corporate governance activities efficiently and effectively in the Middle East and India (“Region”).

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with the corporate legal department at the Head Office to provide legal support and guidance.
  • Work with business units to identify and mitigate risks during proposal and contract review phases and provide support in case of active/passive claims and disputes also liaising with external lawyers if necessary.
  • Take care and foster cooperation among other functions and legal support in the Region.
  • Review, negotiate, and provide feedback on proposed contracts to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Draft and update contractual documents, deeds, declarations, and policies, ensuring compliance with Group regulations and applicable laws.
  • Periodically update company standard form documents to align with best practices and maintain compliance with RINA Group regulations and applicable laws.
  • Support the accounting department with payment and collection matters.
  • Partner with the procurement department and head office legal team to interview and select external legal counsels as needed.
  • Manage corporate secretary activities, including organizing shareholders’ and board of directors’ meetings and drafting meeting minutes, in accordance with local laws and regulations.
  • Experience with labor and employment law is a plus

Education

Bachelor’s Degree
Professional Certificate in Law

Professional Requirements

 

  • Proficiency in English (will be tested) and Arabic.
  • 8 or more years of experience in a legal advisory role, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance (maritime Law knowledge would be a plus).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Fluency in French is a plus.
  • Availability to short-term travel.
