Job Description
The Maintenance B assists maintenance mechanics, electricians, and mobile techs as needed in the repairs and maintenance of plant machinery, equipment, structures, tools and facilities as needed to meet production needs in a safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner.
- Before work begins on any shift, visually inspect equipment and work area to ensure both are in safe operating condition. Document this inspection on workplace exam.
- Follow all company safety and health policies.
- Report any unsafe conditions to management for repairs. Any defects will be barricaded, and a notification will be posted. Equipment will be locked and tagged out as required.
- Report all accidents immediately.
- Keep all high traffic areas clean and clear of any trash, debris, tools, hoses, or other miscellaneous items (use proper procedures for oil and other lubricants leaks and spills).
- Follow and maintain all applicable standards related to Environmental Compliance.
- Report any Environmental events to plant management.
- Help maintain the Pm program through analysis.
- Assign tasks.
- Maintain parts inventory.
- Assist mechanics in safely completing jobs on time Additional duties as assigned.
- Performs preventative mechanical maintenance in accordance with established procedures.
- Troubleshooting, repairs and adjustments to production and safety equipment.
- Complete WO’s on schedule, establish good communications with operations personnel.
- Fill out all needed paperwork to record completed tasks, request needed tools and parts, and provide needed information to management.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- High level of safety and quality.
- Proficient in welding and other hot work.
- Personal Protective Equipment will be worn at all time while on duty (hard hat, hard toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection and gloves).
- Ability to multi-task at a fast-pace (at times), work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.).
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) Knowledge - Preferred.
- Forklift experience - Preferred.
- Computer Software - Preferred.
- Warehouse experience - Preferred.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.), WonderWare or equivalent equipment process software, JD Edwards (JDE) - Preferred.
