DevOps Product Manager – Global Wave Group 

Location: Albany, Auckland (Office based) 

Reports to: Head of IT 

 

Role Purpose 

The DevOps Product Manager will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of DevOps tools and workflows. This role will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to build scalable, secure, and efficient platforms that accelerate software delivery and reduce operational overhead. It requires a candidate who has successfully managed a product from concept to launch and beyond, with a focus on internet-scale systems and continuous improvement. 

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Define and prioritize the DevOps product roadmap, focusing on CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure-as-code.  
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement and improve DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Terraform, Kubernetes). 
  • Optimize cloud environments (AWS) for performance, cost-efficiency, and compliance. 
  • Manage toolchain integration (Docker, Git, Helm) and ensure seamless workflows.  
  • Identify process bottlenecks and design solutions to improve deployment speed and system reliability.  
  • Champion automation, security, and scalability across the organization.  
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and track user feedback for continuous improvement.  

 

Essential Requirements 

  • 3+ years of product design & management experience in internet or enterprise software. 
  • 2+ years in DevOps or SRE, with hands-on experience in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation. 
  • Proven experience in full lifecycle product management (ideation, design, development, launch, and post-launch optimization). 
  • Strong technical background in cloud platforms (AWS) and DevOps tools (Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes). 
  • Agile/Scrum expertise and ability to work in fast-paced environments. 
  • Good communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical teams. 
  • Knowledge of privacy & cybersecurity best practices. 
  • Experience and knowledge in finance business is a bonus point. 

 

Working hours: 2:00 –10:30 p.m.
