Job Description
Develop pricing models and pricing rationale for global Iron Ore sales based on transaction analysis and key pricing drivers. Support pricing and marketing plans through analysis of iron ore market fundamentals, competitor activity, and industry trends. Provide regular market insights and pricing analysis to support business decisions and stakeholder communication. Develop and maintain pricing databases to ensure accuracy of information, in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external data providers. Ensure consistent application of pricing policies and approvals across contracts and agreements. Support the team's role as a trusted source of expertise in iron ore pricing. Ensure effective implementation of pricing strategy through clear communication, consistent application of pricing mechanisms, and appropriate approvals across contracts and sales agreements. Develop and maintain databases and monitoring systems for industry data, pricing trends, competitor strategies, and relative product values. Drive alignment across marketing, sales, value chain, and production teams on product pricing strategies and related commercial considerations. Propose and execute team deliverables, action plans, strategic initiatives, and responses to performance deviations to ensure high standards of execution. Support and monitor execution of the area budget. Support customer segmentation analysis for both current and prospective customers to ensure effective alignment of pricing strategies across segments. Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, International Trading, or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualification or MBA is an advantage. Solid understanding of the global iron ore industry. Relevant experience in commodity pricing, pricing analysis, and pricing models. Sound understanding of pricing mechanisms, market fundamentals, and commercial drivers. Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into clear business recommendations. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong collaboration and influencing skills across cross-functional teams. Ability to challenge assumptions and identify risks and opportunities.
