Your role at a glance
The Senior Global Legal Counsel, Investment & Real Estate is a lawyer of 6-9 years experience with good legal knowledge and understanding of corporate investments and joint ventures and knowledge and understanding of real estate acquisitions, development and financing, with ancillary knowledge of a range of other legal issues relating to core competencies. This role supports NTT Global Data Centers’ business throughout the world on investment initiatives and real estate transactions.The Senior Global Legal Counsel advises on global investment issues such as potential means for investment, structuring of investment and joint venture transactions, critical negotiations and terms in investment / joint venture deals, and ongoing obligations of NTT Global Data Centers in all investment and joint venture transactions. The role further advises on potential real estate acquisitions, including initial investigations, due diligence, key areas for investigation, title, sale and purchase negotiations and company obligations from these transactions. The role provides guidance to NTT Global Data Center business teams across all forms of investment and joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and real estate acquisitions, divestments and financing.
What we are looking for
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Evaluates and makes recommendations on external regional counsel; claims and/or project management consultants; and insurance consultants and/or brokers.
- Negotiates, drafts, and finalizes investment joint venture and transactional agreements for NTT Global Data Centers.
- Advises on investment transactions entered into globally.
- Identifies, and where possible mitigates, risk presented by global investment transactions.
- Collaborates with NTT GDC Investment team on global investment projects.
- Advises NTT GDC in handling of any investment-related disputes in conjunction with in-house and outside counsel.
- Negotiates real estate transactional agreements for the Company in conjunction with outside counsel.
- Advises on real estate transactions entered into globally.
- Identifies, and where possible mitigates, risk presented by real estate transactions.
- Collaborates with NTT GDC Investment team on global real estate projects.
- Advises NTT GDC in handling of any real estate related disputes in conjunction with in-house and outside counsel.
- Highlights to Senior Director risks arising from global real estate contracts and investment transactions.
- Responds to complex inquiries from all departments regarding joint venture and transaction document obligations and commitments; addresses such matters efficiently and promptly.
- Assists Senior Director with development of new methods and suggests solutions for company-wide legal issues, including corporate strategy, financing, and development.
- Accountable for handling issues in both areas of core competency with oversight by the Senior Director.

- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a highly collaborative team.
- Recognizes cultural norms and practices in differing target regions.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
- Data center industry experience a plus.
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school or equivalent.
- Language adaptability a plus
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 6-9 years relevant experience
- Current member in good standing with governing organization for counsel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Remain stationary for long periods of time.
- Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.
- Perform work during US business hours and time zones.
Work conditions & other requirements
- This position is expected to be remote.
- Work across multiple global time zones (including but not limited to India, Europe, South Africa, USA, and Japan) is expected to be required for this position which will require work outside of normal work hours on occasions.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Compensation Pay Range
"This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device.
NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $200,000.00 - $250,000.00.
All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
