
Inflight Training Operations Controller

Job Summary Reporting to the Manager, Crew Planning, the Inflight Training Operations Controller is responsible for the coordination, execution, and oversight of all short-term inflight training activities. This role manages the day-to-day and monthly scheduling of Flight Attendant training programs, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company training requirements. Working collaboratively with Inflight Training, Crew Planning, and operational stakeholders, the Controller ensures training activities are effectively scheduled, monitored, and recovered in the event of operational disruptions. The role is critical to maintaining crew qualifications, operational readiness, and compliance with Transport Canada regulations and company standards. Duties & Responsibilities Training Operations & Scheduling Execute and manage all short-term (current month and day-of) inflight training schedules. Plan, adjust, and optimize training activities within crew management systems. Coordinate recovery of disrupted training events, including initial, recurrent, upgrade, and specialized training. Schedule and adjust instructor resources to support training delivery requirements. Tracking & Compliance Monitor and track completion of all inflight training to ensure regulatory and company compliance. Oversee inflight crew training validity and currency in accordance with Transport Canada regulations and company policies. Identify, escalate, and mitigate compliance risks, including expiries or missed training. Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement Liaise with Inflight Training, Crew Scheduling, and external vendors to support training delivery and recovery efforts. Partner with Inflight leadership on training priorities, constraints, and operational impacts. Communicate training schedules, updates, and changes clearly to inflight crew members. Systems & Administration Maintain accurate training records and scheduling updates within crew management systems. Input and validate schedule adjustments and associated pay implications. Review and reconcile manual adjustments related to training and crew utilization. Reporting & Monitoring Monitor daily training performance and identify risks to completion or operational readiness. Generate and maintain reports on training status, expiries, and recovery plans. Provide data-driven insights to support planning and decision-making. Safety & Compliance Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting hazards and operational irregularities. Promote adherence to company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
