We are seeking a per diem BCBA to provide flexible, as-needed support for school-based behavioral services. This role is ideal for a clinician who values autonomy, enjoys variety in their schedule, and is experienced in delivering high-quality ABA services in educational settings.

Where You'll Make an Impact
As a per diem BCBA at Applied ABC, you will provide targeted behavioral support services within Hawaii DOE school settings on an as-needed basis. You may be called upon to support urgent cases, conduct assessments, provide consultation, or assist with behavioral planning and staff training.
This role is ideal for an experienced BCBA who can quickly integrate into school environments, provide high-quality clinical recommendations, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Clinical Responsibilities

Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) as needed in school settings

Develop or revise Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for students receiving special education services

Provide behavioral consultation to school staff, teachers, and administrators
-
Support implementation of ABA strategies and behavior plans in classroom environments

Train school personnel on behavior management, reinforcement systems, and crisis response strategies

Collect and review behavioral data to inform clinical decision-making

Participate in IEP meetings, team consultations, and emergency behavioral reviews as needed

Support crisis intervention and stabilization planning when requested

Ensure documentation meets DOE, IDEA, FERPA, BACB, Medicaid, and district compliance standards

Collaborate with school-based teams to support student success and behavioral stability
What Sets You Apart
Required
-
Active BCBA certification in good standing
-
Master’s Degree in ABA, Psychology, Education, or related field
-
Experience in school-based, DOE, or special education settings
-
Strong knowledge of FBAs, BIPs, and ABA intervention strategies
-
Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to new school environments
-
Strong communication and consultation skills
-
Reliable transportation and authorization to work in the United States
Nice to Have
-
Experience working across multiple school districts or high-need settings
-
Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and emotional/behavioral disorders
-
Crisis prevention/intervention certification
-
Experience with rapid assessment and short-term behavioral consultation models

Familiarity with DOE documentation systems and compliance requirements
-
Bilingual skills are a plus
