Job Description

Ciklum is looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join our team full-time in Slovakia.

We are a custom product engineering company that supports both multinational organizations and scaling startups to solve their most complex business challenges. With a global team of over 4,000 highly skilled developers, consultants, analysts and product owners, we engineer technology that redefines industries and shapes the way people live.

About the role:

As a Senior Java Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. Migrating off Salesforce as a system of record for several core domains, into purpose-built Java microservices backed by PostgreSQL. You own the data side of that migration end-to-end — extraction, target-side modelling, the migration pipeline, and the parallel-run reconciliation that proves the migration is correct before cutover.

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory the Salesforce data footprint relevant to each bounded context — objects, fields, relationships, automations, validation rules. Document what has to come out and what stays behind
  • Design PostgreSQL target schemas that match the new microservices' bounded contexts — not the legacy Salesforce shape
  • Build the migration pipeline — extract via Salesforce Bulk API, transform, load, verify. Idempotent, restartable, observable
  • Run parallel-run reconciliation: the new system and Salesforce are both writing for a defined window, and you prove they agree before cutover
  • Own data-quality gates and rollback playbooks. Cutover is a non-event because you've already proven the data is right
  • Partner with the backend engineers on the contracts at the boundary — data ownership, eventual consistency, idempotency
  • Build the dashboards that show migration progress and reconciliation health to Andercore leadership

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of data engineering in production, with strong PostgreSQL — modelling, indexes, partitioning, migration tooling
  • Direct, hands-on Salesforce experience as a developer or data engineer — Apex, SOQL, the Bulk API. You've extracted Salesforce data at production scale
  • At least one prior Salesforce-to-relational or Salesforce-to-microservices migration delivered to production
  • Strong Java background — this is not a SQL-only role. You'll write Spring Boot services for the migration pipeline
  • AWS production experience — RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda or equivalent for the pipeline plumbing
  • Real-world experience with parallel-run reconciliation — you know what "close enough" looks like and what it doesn't
  • Daily working use of an AI coding assistant
  • Native-level English, written and spoken

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of CDC tooling (Debezium, AWS DMS) and event-driven migration patterns
  • Experience with dbt, Airflow, or comparable orchestration tooling
  • Background in B2B trade, supply chain, marketplace, or commerce data — you've modelled orders, catalogues, parties, and contracts before
  • Familiarity with data-quality frameworks (Great Expectations, Soda) and how to wire them into a migration pipeline

What`s in it for you?

  • Strong community: Work alongside top professionals in a friendly, open-door culture that values initiative and empowers its people to succeed
  • Fast-paced & agile environment: Be part of a dynamic, fast-moving organization that champions efficiency and innovation
  • Global exposure: Collaborate with international, cross-functional teams and contribute to large-scale initiatives
  • Tailored learning: Boost your skills with internal events (meetups, conferences, workshops), Udemy access, language courses, and company-paid certifications
  • Flexibility: Balance office and remote work to fit your rhythm
  • Care: Take advantage of our extensive benefits offering, aligned with the best market standards

The salary starts from 3100 Eur gross. The final salary depends on the previous experience and professional knowledge of the candidate.
