Our Family Office practice provides accounting, financial reporting, bill pay, cash management, partnership accounting, and advisory services to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families. We serve as trusted advisors, helping clients navigate complex financial affairs, preserve wealth across generations, and achieve their personal and business objectives.
As a Family Office Senior Manager, you will serve as a strategic advisor to clients while leading multiple client engagements, developing team members, driving operational excellence, and contributing to the growth and success of the practice. You will work alongside tax professionals, wealth advisors, attorneys, investment professionals, and other outside advisors to deliver a seamless client experience.

What you will do:
Client Service & Engagement Leadership
- Serve as the primary relationship leader and trusted advisor for multiple family office clients
- Oversee multiple client engagements and ensure overall quality, consistency, efficiency, and client satisfaction
- Manage engagement scope, budgets, profitability, and resource allocation
- Develop strategic insights and recommendations based on client objectives, financial results, and changing economic conditions
- Lead coordination with tax advisors, attorneys, wealth managers, investment advisors, and other external professionals
- Serve as an escalation point for complex client, accounting, operational, and service issues
- Drive client retention and enhance the overall client experience
- Identify opportunities to expand services and deepen client relationships
Accounting & Financial Oversight
- Review and approve complex financial statements, management reports, reconciliations, and accounting analyses
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes for clients and related entities
- Ensure compliance with accounting and firm quality standards
- Provide technical accounting guidance and resolve complex accounting issues
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, cash activity, and financial reporting deliverables
- Oversee bill pay, cash management, payroll, and other family office operational activities as needed
- Anticipate the impact of regulatory, tax, and business changes on client financial operations
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop Managers, Experienced Managers, and staff across multiple client teams
- Conduct performance coaching, provide timely feedback, and support career development planning
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture
- Coordinate with Resource Management to optimize staffing and engagement performance
- Promote continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and leadership development
- Ensure work is assigned at the appropriate level and aligned with team member development goals
Practice Management
- Oversee engagement financial performance, pricing, realization, and collections
- Manage risk across engagements and ensure compliance with firm policies and professional standards
- Drive standardization, efficiency, and process improvement initiatives across the Family Office practice
- Optimize operational performance and resource utilization
- Monitor engagement metrics and proactively address staffing and capacity challenges
- Collaborate across service lines to deliver integrated client solutions
Business Development & Growth
- Participate in business development strategy and execution activities
- Build and maintain a strong external network and market presence
- Identify opportunities to generate additional revenue and expand existing client relationships
- Support proposal development, presentations, and prospect meetings
- Contribute to strategic initiatives that drive growth and innovation within the Family Office practice
Successful candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- CPA license preferred
- 8+ years of progressive accounting, family office, client accounting services, or related experience
- 4+ years of experience managing client engagements within a professional services environment
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing multiple team members
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation, and complex accounting transactions
- Experience working with ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, partnerships, trusts, and investment entities preferred
- Experience with QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, and other cloud-based accounting platforms
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong project management, client relationship, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Strong business development mindset and ability to identify growth opportunities
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Demonstrated executive presence, intellectual curiosity, collaboration, emotional intelligence, and results orientation
The pay rate range for this job position is $135,000 to $195,350. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.
