Job Description

  1. Evaluates disorders of referred adult and pediatric patients utilizing written and verbal diagnostic testing procedures with associated equipment to determine the extent of patient’s impairment and the prognosis for improvement. Identifies pertinent patient problems.
  2. Sets objective, measurable treatment goals, incorporating patient’s goal(s) for functional outcome. Establishes a treatment plan based on patient needs and patient family input.
  3. Performs treatment procedures with appropriate individual or group therapy utilizing a variety of techniques and equipment and adapts techniques to meet the needs of patients.
  4. Reevaluates patients, modifies treatment plan and procedures based on patient progress.
  5. Provides objective, analytic documentation of patient care, patient progress, and patient/family education, including periodic assessments and discharge summaries.
  6. Communicates effectively with medical/allied health personnel regarding patient progress, needs and discharge planning.
  7. Responsible for assisting management in the planning, development, and organization of speech services and programs.
  8. Assists in training/orientation of new personnel as requested.
  9. Participates in the clinical instruction of speech therapy students, as requested.
  10. Maintains supplies and equipment required for evaluation and treatment.
  11. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment programs, quality improvement initiatives, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  12. Attends meetings as required and enhances professional growth and development through approved participation in education programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops. Plans and presents inservice education and continuing education courses, as requested.
  13. Performs other work-related duties as assigned or requested.

Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellows must practice under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist who meets ASHA's qualifications for a Clinical Fellow Mentor.

Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Specialist

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Serves as a clinical resource for rehabilitation staff in a focused area of clinical expertise; plans and conducts treatment programs for patients.

2. Assists management in the planning, development, organization and supervision of the specified clinical specialty area.

Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow – Grade: S18T, Job Code: TBD

· Ability to read, write and communicate in English

· (PSLP) - Currently licensed Provisional Speech-Language Pathologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

· (BLS) - Current Basic Life Support certification 

· Upon completion of the fellowship, the Clinical Fellow will move into a regular Speech-Language Pathologist position (Code 8223).

 

Speech-Language Pathologist – Grade: S18T, Job Code: 8223 (Per Diem: 8096)

· All qualifications of Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow

· (SLP) - Currently licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts 

· (ASHA) – Current certification with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association 

 

Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Specialist – Grade: S19T, Job Code: 8247 (Per Diem: 8283)

· All qualifications of Speech-Language Pathologist

· (SLP) - Currently licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts 

· (ASHA) – Current certification with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association 

· Documentation of Specialist Certification
