Job Summary:

The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life seeks a motivated, engaged, student-centered professional to serve as Assistant Director. Reporting to the Associate Director, the Assistant Director supports the fraternity and sorority community through leadership development, program planning, and risk management efforts, as well as serving as the advisor to the Interfraternity Council (IFC).  As part of a team of five full-time professionals, this role partners with student leaders to guide council operations, community programming, opportunities to represent the office and community on key committees with campus partners and supervise a Graduate Assistant.

Job Description:

The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life seeks a motivated, engaged, student-centered professional to serve as Assistant Director. Reporting to the Associate Director, the Assistant Director supports the fraternity and sorority community through leadership development, program planning, and risk management efforts, as well as serving as the advisor to the Interfraternity Council (IFC). As part of a team of five full-time professionals, this role partners with student leaders to guide council operations, community programming, opportunities to represent the office and community on key committees with campus partners and supervise a Graduate Assistant.

  • Provide leadership and management support for the University’s social fraternities and sororities, with a primary focus on the Interfraternity Council (IFC), while supporting all governing councils as needed.
  • Serve as the primary advisor to chapter presidents for 16 organizations and their executive boards, standards boards, recruitment teams, and related committees and programs, in collaboration with other Fraternity and Sorority Life staff.
  • Develop, implement, and assess leadership development and educational programs addressing topics such as new member education, senior transition, risk management, officer training, event planning, and conflict management, both independently and in partnership with campus stakeholders.
  • Supervise, train, educate, and evaluate Graduate Assistants, providing ongoing mentorship, professional development, and functional oversight.
  • Coordinate and support fraternity recruitment and membership processes in partnership with student leaders.
  • Manage and oversee fraternity and sorority life signature programs, including the FSL Excellence Awards, STANDKind harm reduction series, and leadership initiatives such as B.R.I.D.G.E., FLE, and ENGAGE.
  • Develop and maintain print, web, and social media content related to fraternity and sorority life initiatives and communications.
  • Assist with fraternity and sorority conduct matters in collaboration with the Office of Conflict Resolution and Student Conduct.
  • Serve as a liaison between the University, chapter advisors, and national fraternity and sorority headquarters.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of assessment strategies, retention initiatives, and strategic planning for the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life.
  • Serve on Student Affairs and University-wide committees and represent the University within professional fraternity and sorority associations by attending relevant conferences and training programs.
  • Perform related duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life

Job Responsibilities:

Preferred Qualifications:

·   Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel or relatable field

·  (2) Two year professional fraternity and sorority advising experience.

·  Strong knowledge of fraternity and sorority life systems.

·  Commitment to student development.

·  Demonstrated leadership, supervision, and crisis management skills.

 

Working Conditions:

·  Standard office environment with occasional evening or weekend hours required for events or special projects.

Compensation:

$42,640.00 - $63,980.80
