POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will teach homebound students, providing a variety of learning services and serving as the liaison between school and home.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provides learning experiences in a variety of settings for students unable to attend school due to illness or injury.
- Serves as liaison between home and school.
- Maintains appropriate student supervision to provide a safe and orderly learning environment.
- Implements instructional activities provided by the student's teacher of record.
- Picks up and delivers student assignments.
- Maintains appropriate records to document student progress.
- Maintains a dependable homebound/homebased schedule and positive learning environment.
- Implement technology for instructional delivery as appropriate.
- Completes and submits required documentation for payment of services in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
Required:
- Minnesota teaching license.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Demonstrates ability to successfully manage time and materials effectively.
- Demonstrates ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Behaves in a professional and ethical manner.
- Prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
- Ability to teach up to 25 hours per week including but not limited to regular school hours.
- Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships.
- Ability to travel to home and/or community locations.
- Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions.
Desired:
- Minnesota K-12 Special Education license.
