Overview:
Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) is an award-winning nonprofit, nonsectarian human services organization founded in 1943. Today, it has grown to be the largest provider of licensed outpatient community behavioral health services and one of the largest human service agencies in Westchester County. WJCS delivers innovative programs and services and compassionate care to more than 20,000 people of all ages and backgrounds throughout the county.
We are currently seeking an Intake Clinician to join our team in Mt. Vernon. In this role, you will be responsible for serving as the first clinical point of contact for individuals entering services. This role focuses exclusively on completing intake and assessment processes in a warm, trauma-informed, and efficient manner. The Intake Clinician ensures clients are welcomed, engaged, and connected to care as quickly as possible. This is a fully in-person role - Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM.
The salary range for this full-time position is $70,000–$80,000, determined by licensure, plus a $5,000 differential for bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency, for a total compensation range of $70,000–$85,000. In addition, there are supplemental income opportunities.
Responsibilities:
As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial initial assessments.
- Provide scheduled and rapid access same-day intake evaluations.
- Assess safety risks and respond appropriately.
- Develop initial service recommendations and care plans.
- Facilitate warm handoffs to ongoing providers.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams.
- Complete 5 to 7 services daily comprised of initial and continuing evaluation appointments.
Requirements:
We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
- NYS licensure or limited permit (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC) required.
- Experience conducting behavioral health assessments.
- Strong engagement, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer skills and electronic health records.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse, multicultural populations.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
