Job Description

Tool Room Group Leader Responsible for leading the Tool Room in organizing deliveries, keeping the warehouse clean and tidy, assisting others with tools, and communicating delivery of erection material to the erection department. RESPONSIBILITIES  Receive deliveries to the plant  Assure accuracy of received items  Maintain warehouse and roadway in a clean and orderly  Clean chucks  Load material baskets and delivery items to production beds as needed  Communicate with tool room in regarding warehouse supplies  Stock delivered material  Coordinate pickups and deliveries  Maintain proper inventory and conduct monthly inventory audits  Properly use and conduct minor maintenance on forklift  Deliver necessary items to production beds in a timely manner  Communicate with department supervisor on available warehouse supplies  Accumulate erection material and deliver items to jobsite  Operate tractor to deliver material to the plant  Operate overhead crane  Adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety regulations and policies  Housekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner SCOPE OF AUTHORITY  Little supervision, must work independently  Train Tool Room, Forklift Driver, Tractor Operator, and Crane Operator CHARACTERISTICS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)  Able to read blueprints, plans, and pick lists  Able to read a measuring tape to 1/8  Able to back a trailer into tight corners  Self-motivated  Basic reading, writing, and math skills  Be familiar with rigging equipment, overhead crane, hammer, ladder, and forklift  Able to recognize needs and act  Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes  Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY  Forklift experience preferred  Previous construction experience preferred  High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred  8 forms of waste  6S’s WORK ENVIRONMENT / SCHEDULE  Monday-Friday  Schedule varies with workload and location  Unscheduled overtime may be required depending on production needs  Outdoor, unsheltered  Work area is not climate controlled and may be exposed to changing weather and temperature PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (PPE)  Safety glasses  High-visibility vest  Hard hat  Steel-toed shoes  Hearing protection  Gloves (various types) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This position requires standing for long periods of time, lifting (up to 75 lbs.) and bending, repetitive motion with medium force, and an ability to frequently climb up to 15 feet above ground using stairs.
