
Therapist at Jail OUT (On-Unit Treatment) Program - Full Time
Job Description
Join Wasatch Behavioral Health as a Full-Time Therapist with our 90-Day OUT (On-Unit Treatment) Program, located within the Utah County Jail in Spanish Fork, Utah. In this impactful role, you will provide substance use and mental health treatment, conduct assessments and intakes, and support discharge planning for incarcerated individuals preparing to return to the community. As part of a collaborative partnership between Wasatch Behavioral Health and the Utah County Sheriff's Office, you'll help participants address criminal thinking patterns and high-risk behaviors while building a foundation for long-term success. This position offers a competitive pay range of $28.50–$44.03/hour and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of both male and female clients as they work toward recovery and stability.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Compensation: $28.50–$44.03 DOE and Licensure

What You'll Do as a Therapist
- Conduct assessments, psychosocial evaluations, treatment planning, and clinical documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy focused on substance use treatment, behavioral change, and successful community reintegration.
- Manage an assigned caseload, monitor client progress, and adjust treatment interventions as needed.
- Coordinate discharge planning, aftercare services, and community resource referrals to support long-term recovery and stability.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, jail staff, courts, state agencies, and community partners to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in family team meetings, case consultations, and treatment planning discussions.
- Serve as a resource for families, organizations, and stakeholders by providing consultation, education, and support as needed.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in social work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy.
- Utah licensure as CSW, ACMHC, AMFT, LCSW, CMHC, or LMFT (or the ability to obtain it before starting).
- Must pass the Utah County Jail's criminal background check.
- Solid skills in clinical assessment, treatment planning, and providing therapy.
- Comfortable working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a team.
- Reliable with documentation and maintaining professional standards.
- Committed to ethical practice and ongoing learning.
- Spanish speakers may qualify for a wage increase.
