Facilities Maintenance Janitor | Southern Tier Brewing - Lakewood, NY

The Facilities Maintenance Janitor is responsible for executing daily tasks to maintain the cleanliness and world class appearance of the facility. He/she is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe environment for our employees, constituents, and customers, while ensuring that the public areas of the facility are always presented in the best way possible. The Facilities Maintenance Janitor is an important ambassador for the ABV brand.

Reports to: Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Ensures all daily facility-wide cleaning activities are executed safely and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Ensures all tasks, as indicated by Maintenance & Cleaning Logs, are completed in all areas of responsibility (including but not limited to brewery, warehouse, distillery, office areas, hospitality areas, restrooms, locker room, and break room) on a regular basis
• Performs miscellaneous tasks and projects as directed by Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of commercial/institutional housekeeping experience preferred
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• An understanding of brewery sanitation and food safety programs
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
• Ability to follow task schedules
• Strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism

Physical Requirements

• Occasionally sit or stand for long periods of time
• Occasionally work above grade, from ladders and lifts
• Frequently sit, stand, walk, bend over, twist, kneel, climb, stoop and crouch. This position requires the ability to routinely and repeatedly lift up to 55 pounds and maneuver 170 pounds repeatedly
• Use their hands to perform fine manipulation, handle or feel, and must be able to reach with their hands and arms
• Safely and properly handle cleaning chemicals and hazardous materials in various size quantities

Work Environment

The Facilities Maintenance Janitor will primarily perform work duties in the production, taproom, and office areas of the facility.

While performing the duties of the job in the office and taproom areas of the brewery, PPE is not mandatory. However, when passing through the production areas of the facility, there can be loud noise levels, and protective eyewear is required on the production floor at all times.
