The Data Centre Operations Technician Team shall be responsible for maintaining operational continuity within the Data Centre.The team’s primary focus shall include monitoring infrastructure 24x7 and responding promptly to alerts and incidents, alongside overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with business and compliance requirements. The team shall ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable standards and procedures.
Job Description
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform break-fix maintenance on servers, networking, and storage infrastructure.
Install, configure, and test hardware/software to support ongoing business needs.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, network, and connectivity issues in a timely manner.
Conduct preventive inspections to reduce downtime and operational risks.
Monitor infrastructure 24x7 and respond promptly to alerts and incidents.
Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with business and compliance requirements.
Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs).
Maintain accurate asset and inventory records to support audits and capacity planning.
Monitor and analyze data center performance metrics, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Support and lead small-to-large scale projects, including migrations and expansions

KEY SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES
Vendors must demonstrate that their proposed resources possess the following capabilities:
Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure (servers, networking, storage).
Proven troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under pressure.
Effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders across functions and levels.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of outcomes.
Flexibility to support 24x7 operations, including weekends, holidays, and on-call duty.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical capability to handle hardware equipment (up to 50lbs).
Leadership, mentoring, and training capabilities to build workforce competency.
Commitment to continuous improvement and adoption of emerging industry practices
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
1-2 years of relevant on-site experience, with capacity to complete a tailored training plan related to job function.
