
Principal Engineer, FASTAPP (Mendix)
Job Description
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: 11+ years
- 5+ years of strong hands-on experience in Mendix (Expert Certified)
- Proven experience in large-scale Mendix implementations (multi-app, multi-geo, mission-critical programs)
- Deep expertise in Mendix application lifecycle management, cloud-native deployments, CI/CD, DevOps, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks (OAuth2, SSO, GDPR, data compliance), performance optimization, and resilience design
- Hands-on integration experience with SAP, Salesforce, Dynamics 365, ServiceNow, REST/SOAP APIs, Kafka/ESB
- Experience establishing and scaling a Mendix Center of Excellence (CoE), governance models, and reusable component libraries
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage CxOs, Enterprise Architects, and Delivery Leaders
- Experience defining and enforcing best practices, coding standards, and reusable components across Mendix programs
- Exposure to multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and composable enterprise architecture (preferred)
- Experience in driving AI enablement and adoption within Mendix-based solutions
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and define end-to-end Mendix solution architecture aligned with enterprise IT and business strategies
- Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing Mendix applications
- Ensure seamless integration with ERP, CRM, APIs, and other enterprise platforms
- Define architecture blueprints, integration strategies, and reusability frameworks for enterprise-wide adoption
- Conduct solution reviews, performance tuning, and enforce technical governance standards
- Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and reusable components across projects
- Drive AI adoption within the Mendix platform to enhance solution capabilities
- Lead and support UAT, production rollouts, and ensure quality and timely delivery
- Create and validate WBS, estimations, and technical solution proposals
- Guide teams in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical and architectural challenges
- Drive DevOps practices, automated deployments, and CI/CD implementation for Mendix applications
- Lead competence building initiatives — mentor and coach Architects, Leads, and Developers; drive certifications and upskilling
- Support and lead pre-sales activities including solutioning, estimations, proposal creation, client presentations, and executive-level solution defense
- Define and execute the Mendix Practice strategy, including offerings, accelerators, partnerships, and go-to-market initiatives
- Establish and lead the Mendix Center of Excellence (CoE) to ensure standards, governance, and innovation
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
