Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Centre Governance & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure full operational compliance with the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA) Child Care Centres Act and Licensing Guidelines.
- Lead, prepare, and maintain the center's standards to achieve and retain SPARK (Singapore Pre-school Accreditation Framework) certification.
- Manage center registration, licensing renewals, and child/staff records accurately within the ONE@ECDA portal.
2. Staff Leadership & Talent Development
- Drive a positive workplace culture by executing performance reviews, identifying training gaps, and motivating a diverse team of educators.
- Mentor and guide senior teachers in leadership paths and actively supervise the progress of trainee teachers under professional development tracks.
- Oversee manpower scheduling and roster planning to maintain mandatory teacher-to-child ratios at all times.
3. Curriculum & Pedagogical Excellence
- Provide clear direction to the curriculum team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, holistic, and values-aligned early childhood programs.
- Monitor classroom delivery, safety protocols, and health/hygiene practices through routine observation and feedback loops.
- Drive the implementation of innovative routines (e.g., center-wide rituals, character-building programs) to enhance student engagement.
4. Stakeholder Management & Growth
- Serve as the primary point of resolution for complex parent inquiries, feedback, and workplace conflict scenarios.
- Manage center enrollment targets, handle center tours, and execute family retention strategies.
- Collaborate with external vendors, community partners, and government agencies to enhance center initiatives.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Centre Leadership (ADECL) or Diploma in Professional Leadership (DPL). A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education is highly advantageous.
- Certification: Valid ECDA L2 Language Certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience as an L2 teacher, with at least 1–2 years in a principal or supervisory capacity preferred.
- Language Baseline: Minimum of a credit in GCE ‘O’ Level English (or equivalent WPL literacy band).
- Core Competencies: Exceptional critical thinking, staff mentorship capabilities, and conflict resolution skills.
