We are looking for a Senior Associate Neurology Partnering who is scientifically passionate and driven, collaborative, and innovative to join our Scouting & Partnering team, based at our UCB campus located in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.
About the role
You will play a key role in identifying and evaluating external innovation opportunities in neurology and neuromuscular diseases. You are going to connect cutting-edge science with UCB’s strategy, contributing to deal-making and early collaborations. You will also support and enrich the internal pipeline by bringing forward novel ideas and scientific insights.
Who you will work with
You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary experts across research, clinical, business development, legal, and IP teams. You will also engage with external stakeholders including biotech companies, academia, and scientific networks, expanding partnerships that advance innovation.
What you will do
- You will scout for external innovation across biotech, pharma, and academia aligned with UCB’s strategy.
- You will evaluate scientific opportunities and integrate external insights to support portfolio decisions.
- You will lead or coordinate due diligence activities and provide clear recommendations to senior leaders.
- You will build and maintain strong external networks within neuroscience/neuromuscular and related fields.
- You will contribute to business negotiations and early-stage partnership development.
- You will bring innovative ideas to strengthen and complement the internal neurology and neuromuscular pipeline.
Interested?
For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills:
- PhD (or equivalent) in neuroscience, pharmacology, or related field with postdoctoral experience.
- Strong understanding of drug discovery, from preclinical to early clinical development.
- Experience or exposure to partnering, business development, or external collaborations.
- Ability to critically assess scientific data and translate it into strategic recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing diverse stakeholders.
- Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with strong collaboration skills.
