Work Broker | Northland Region – Te Tai Tokerau
- Full-time (37.55 hours per week)
- Salary: $79,200 – $95,873
Ngā tūranga wātea | Positions available
- Whangārei – Permanent
- Whangārei – Fixed-term / Secondment (to June 2027)
- Mid North – Permanent (primary location to be confirmed)
- The Mid North role will operate across multiple service centres, including Kaikohe, Kerikeri and Kawakawa. Final site allocation will be discussed and confirmed at interview stage.
This is a relationship-led role focused on the Northland labour market.
As a Work Broker, you partner with employers to understand workforce needs, influence hiring decisions, and connect businesses with people ready to work. This is a front-facing role, with most time spent engaging employers, building networks, and working across the region. You will operate in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift, and collaboration across teams is essential.

Create employment opportunities for people who need a chance. You will work alongside Case Managers and employment teams to place people into sustainable employment while building trusted employer partnerships across Northland.
Ko te mahi | What you’ll be doing
Employer engagement and partnerships
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers across the region
- Understand workforce needs and identify hiring opportunities
- Promote MSD employment initiatives and services
- Develop ongoing hiring pipelines and future opportunities
- Travel across Northland to meet employers and attend events
Recruitment and placement
- Promote vacancies and connect employers with suitable candidates
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention
- Advocate for candidates and promote their strengths
- Work closely with Case Managers to achieve sustainable placements
Collaboration and delivery
- Contribute to regional employment programmes and initiatives
- Share labour market insights across teams
- Maintain accurate records and manage multiple workstreams

- Full NZ Driver Licence

Salary | Utu-ā-tau: $79,200.00 - $95,873.00
Starting salary dependent on relevant skills, experience, and knowledge.
