The role of a maintenance technician is to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment following all processes and procedures, communicating potential and immediate issues to the maintenance manager. This individual also maintains records of repairs through Manager Plus, analyzes trends, and makes recommendations to increase machine reliability and uptime.
Key Essential Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Complies with all Safety processes and procedures, EPA and OSHA regulations
- Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyors, PLC, and all other equipment
- Tracks all repairs in manager plus, identifying any reoccurring themes and making recommendations for repairs to maintenance manager
- Does daily visual inspections of building, grounds, equipment, and projects in process
- Works with plant supervisors to increase reliability and uptime on equipment
- Consults and coordinates with operations on repair schedules and any production delays that could happen
- Fabricates parts as needed for repairs
- Follows Total Preventative Maintenance guidelines
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities (SKAs):
- Strong industrial mechanical equipment skills
- Proven troubleshooting, problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Ability to prioritize repairs according to urgency
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational and follow-up skills
Required Experience
- Successful completion of Industrial Maintenance apprenticeship program or other accredited training
- 10+ years industrial maintenance repair and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment
