Client CTO

Position Summary:

The Client CTO is an IT Enterprise Architect, who has overall responsibility for the technology program on leading Unisys accounts and for assisting the sales and Client Executive and operational teams in delivering the contracted services. Primarily focused on expanding our portfolio footprint by creating compelling solutions, for full ITO (C&I and DWS), Imaging, Cyber Security and Social Collaboration based on our portfolio and the Client requirements.

Working as a trusted advisor to the customers in respect of our scope of contracted services, providing insight and guidance on future innovations and technical roadmaps. The individual is responsible for transforming our processes, people, technology and culture, focused on the quality of client experience at all levels, and acts as a true client advocate, ensuring the client’s voice is heard in all functions and activities, and that this influences Unisys’ priorities and behaviors.

What success looks like in this role:

  • The Client CTO has a deep understanding of the client’s key IT and business challenges, focus areas and business objectives, and is able to specify business value from the client’s perspective. This role requires an intimate understanding of the customer behaviors, drivers and values through data analytics, qualitative means, living the client’s life, plus virtual social interactions.

  • Works with individual teams and Global Delivery and Capability Leads to identify opportunities, deliver the contracted services and change projects. The goal is to improve performance, generate and demonstrate greater value and consistently contribute to driving up client satisfaction and its measurement as a key account metric.

  • As our clients look towards a digital future, the main objective and responsibility of the Client CTO will be to help our customers, on that journey.

  • Has an open-minded hands-on mentality, working as transparently as possible always considering possible application scenarios and use cases while planning innovations and considering future technologies.

  • Is responsible for taking a leadership role in Strategic Business Planning, Service Excellence and Improvement and Applied Innovation Programs, whilst ensuring improved Governance maturity.

  • Focus on the overall strategy with the Client and the account leadership team to define and develop the IT strategic roadmap within the scope of services contracted.

Tasks

Architecture

  • Manage, use and maintain IT/technology architecture models and create a client specific strategy for the area.

  • As Client CTO, you serve as a trusted advisor to the customer in technology related matters.

  • Work in partnership with the client executive and operational teams to identify new opportunities to expand our portfolio of contracted services.

  • Drive internal offering & capability development to meet client needs. Provide feedback and input whilst working with our portfolio and capability units.

  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend Proof of Concepts, Proof of Value and other solutions that contribute towards building a business case for the customer in respect of new, enhanced, or different technologies that would serve its purposes better.

  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations.

  • Provide technical direction to delivery on key projects. Maintain and establish strong partnership with all US&C IT operational teams.

  • Work with broader Unisys presales function to develop, shape and ultimately propose new solutions and opportunities for the US&C customer environment.

Innovation & Leadership

  • Drive and coordinate the Applied Innovation and Service Excellence programs.

  • Be an ambassador for the Unisys Service Lines, educating both the Unisys Account teams and Client personnel on the Unisys future strategy, service roadmaps and overall solution architecture.

  • Contribute to the technical dimension of Account Plan and produce annual account technology roadmap.

  • Communicate and contribute with the Service Lines on issues identified from field observations, client feedback and technical communities (e.g., Case Studies)

  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities across the processes, procedures, and delivery practices for the Services we provide, with the aim of creating Value.

  • As a Client CTO you will maintain key relationships with the Global Solution Architecture team and contribute to team meetings, technical evaluations, training, capability development and critical artefact review. Assisting your peer group with technical proposal reviews or evaluations whilst also offering any technical leadership, guidance and mentoring as appropriate. 

Client relationship

  • Drive up client satisfaction and identify new opportunities to increase client value.

  • Technical single point of contact and primary Unisys technical representative

Projects & Change Management

  • Analyze and manage customer requirements, and work with the project/change team to develop project plans and associated documents needed to deliver the solution.

  • Be responsible for the overall solution integrity and design of new services and solutions proposed to the two clients.

  • Work with the Change/Project team

  • Communicate and publicize results and success, both externally with the Client and internally

  • Communicate solution

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • Fluent English language skills with experience in English language IT Service Delivery or Presales

  • Experience as technical lead for a major technology implementation or technical project / program

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience.

  • Consultative selling knowledge/experience

  • Ability to understand specific client business operations, strategies, objectives, and needs. Translating these into requirements and the basis for compelling solutions.

  • Depth of experience as an IT Architect

  • Sound experience in working with large IT Infrastructure service delivery.

  • Driven, self-motivated and distinctive personality who is able to motivate himself and others.

  • Curious, hands-on and pragmatic character

  • Strong know-how in Microsoft technology
