Pressroom - Press Operator 2

  Press Operator 2 Salary range: $25.25 - $33.25 + $1.00 shift differential Schedule: Monday - Thursday night shift - 7pm to 7am Position Summary: Support all phases of production by and following all SOPs for operation, maintenance of the printing press, all while following all safety and quality control standards. Direct / train press operators assisting on press.    What You'll Do: Able to perform basic operations to setup and maintain a job run including loading paper, hanging plates, etc Review job ticket, verify ink and paper match the job, and know how to set up fountains, feeders and plates Check color specifications and determine how to conduct color matching Run the job using standard quality control measures including date stamping and checking offset Recognize and eliminate printing problems such as picking, piling, register and other defects Use measuring devices such as blanket gauge, densitometer, durometer, PH meter, packing gauge or micrometer as needed Enforce SOPs and assist operators when necessary  Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping functions Report time and production results accurately Adhere to and promote all safety policies and procedures  All other duties as assigned   Physical Requirements:  Ability to stand and walk for 12-hour shift and lift up to 60lbs May be exposed to liquid chemicals or vapors   What You Bring: Ability to read and understand written instructions and read a standard ruler High levels of attention to detail  Ability to work as a team  Mechanically inclined   Experience/Education:  High school diploma or equivalent preferred  Minimum (2) years prior pressman experience required Technical training with Heidelberg sheet fed printing preferred
