Electrical Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Main Tasks
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- React to emergency calls/provide electrical support for Production Equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair any electrical problems reported within the facility
- Support installations, upgrades and equipment relocations
- Specify, layout and wire equipment/machine electrical panels
- Maintain a working knowledge of PLC programming and hardware
- Utilize electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic schematics to troubleshoot equipment
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair AC & DC motor control circuits
- Troubleshoot, dignose and repair Servo motion controls & Robotics
- Assist with record keeping of electrical manuals, documentation and program file management
- Train other electricians within the department
- Maintain a safe work environment on and off the production lines
- Display a fundamental working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
- Complete all other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Two years minimum successful service working in the electrical field and high school diploma or equivalent for internal candidates. Technical school diploma and/or accredited courses preferred
- External candidates must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent and must have 4 years’ experience trouble shooting industrial electrical controls, programmable controllers, single phase and three phase systems. Technical school diploma and/or accredited courses preferred.
- Ability to read and design electrical schematics, read blue prints, use various types of electrical meters, use a personal computer, create & modify PLC programs, design electrical control panels, design electrical control panels, trouble shoot programmable controllers, wire and trouble shoot AC & DC drives.
- Have a complete understanding of programmable controllers, three phase wiring systems, control wiring, component sizing, and electrical installations
- Knowledge of quality, safety and production factors related to job tasks
