Job Description
Responsible for safe troubleshooting, installation, repair and operation of mechanical, electrical and conveyor equipment.
What You Will Do
- Understands accepted troubleshooting guidelines for PLC, control valves and all PLC logic.
- Possess overall knowledge of the installation, operation, repair, of assigned equipment.
- Maintains sufficient inventory of electrical supplies and repair parts to meet most emergency situations.
- Takes care of company vehicle, keeping it clean and organized.
- Reports any unsafe practices or actions to supervisor.
- Continues to look for better and more efficient ways of doing job.
- Keeps lines of communication open to supervisor and other company employees while meeting the needs of all customers.
- Makes callouts on equipment.
- Works with project managers, engineering and contractors on all new construction projects.
- Maintain all controls, monitor alarms and sensor tests.
- Troubleshooting and scheduling electrical maintenance for the assigned location.
- Solid understanding of electrical motor control.
- Knowledge of electrical prints and capable of making appropriate red-line changes to them.
- Assist PLC programming personnel.
- Good understanding of PLC cause and effect.
- Supervise electrical contractors.
- Job level will be commensurate with experience and knowledge
- Assist Operations in Loading Vessels and other Auxillary Tasks
What You Need
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required
- A minimum of 1 - 3 years of previous successful or experience industrial maintenance is required.
Required Qualifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers and must be willing to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment.
- Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones, such as background checks by both the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security, i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
- Must be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol test along with a Hair follicle test.
- Must possess Safety training/certification as required by customers to work in their facilities and as required by Kinder Morgan at all locations
- Must be able to complete/pass DISA/ISTC background check and testing for entrance into refinery.
- Able to work at different work locations when needed
- Must be able to effectively communicate verbally.
- Must work shift schedule as assigned and overtime with little to no notice during the week, weekends, holidays, etc. as needed for operational needs.
- If required must be able to perform shift work, rotating day/night.
- You will be subject to the on-call schedule and must respond to emergency call outs as scheduled
- In order to appropriately perform the essential duties of this job, regular work attendance is required.
- Perform housekeeping and general maintenance as required
- Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment for the assigned tasks and report damaged protective equipment and unsafe conditions to Terminal Management
- Must be self-motivated and self-starter.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience with Journeyman License or equivalent, Conveying Equipment and material handling systems.
Working Conditions:
- Understand and comply with customer and Kinder Morgan's rules and policies.
- Must be willing and able to work as a part of team, take direction from supervisor(s), keep required work schedules, focus attention to details, and follow work rules.
- Physically able to handle large tools, climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend ladders, and should not have a fear of heights
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, bend, squat, reach, etc. for extended periods of time.
- Ability to identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock and loud noise levels.
- This position consists of outside work and adverse weather conditions may apply.
- Must be able to work in dusty environment
- Must wear FRC clothing.
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds
