Job Description
The Communications Director leads and oversees the organization’s communications function. This role develops and executes strategies to share corporate messaging with internal and external audiences while ensuring consistency, clarity, and alignment with the company’s brand and values.

What you’ll be doing:
Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that support business objectives and strengthen the organization’s image
Review and edit communications to ensure messaging is clear, on-brand, and aligned with organizational standards
Oversee content development and select appropriate channels to reach target audiences effectively
Measure and report on the effectiveness of communication campaigns using defined performance metrics
Partner with executive leadership to align messaging with strategic goals
Select and manage communications tools, technologies, and platforms to improve messaging effectiveness
Lead a team of communications professionals by providing coaching, direction, and performance management
Ensure alignment with company policies and maintain a consistent brand voice across all communication channels
Support executive communication needs and events, including developing presentations, talking points, and written materials on behalf of Savage leaders
Manage media relations and support crisis communications on behalf of the organization
Requirements to be successful in this position:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field
10+ years of related experience
Valid Passport or the ability to obtain a passport
Demonstrate prior leadership experience, including managing teams and overseeing departmental functions
Apply extensive knowledge of communications strategies, including brand management, social media, web, internal communications, executive communications, media relations, events, and multi-channel content delivery
Preferred: Experience contributing to strategic planning and managing communications budgets
Demonstrate experience managing conferences, town halls, and other events
Communicate clearly in writing and verbally in English for job-related and safety-critical communications; accommodations are available as appropriate
Demonstrate strategic thinking and strong leadership capabilities
Influence effectively and build relationships across all levels of the organization
Apply strong interpersonal and team-building skills
Communicate persuasively with strong attention to detail
Evaluate communication performance metrics and campaign effectiveness to inform decisions and continuous improvement
Here are some of the physical requirements for this role:
Requires approximately 25% regular travel, with heavier traffic cycles during busier times. (Principal travel in North America, including USA, Canada, and Mexico, with potential occasional travel to other international locations, which may include the Middle East.)
Position is largely sedentary in a climate-controlled office environment
Sitting for extended periods of time (up to 6-10 hours per day), while working at computer or desk
Frequently uses hands and fingers for keyboarding, writing, and operating office tools
Reads printed materials and computer screens, adjusts focus, and maintains attention to detail
Hears and speaks frequently, to communicate effectively in-person, by telephone, or via virtual platforms
Ability to lift, push, pull, and reach office-related supplies, files, chairs, and carts
Ability to move for short periods between work areas to attend meetings or retrieve materials
Exposed to standard office-related materials and substances, with low-to-moderate noise levels
If applicable, during operations, visits may be required by the site or customer to wear PPE, including but not limited to respirators, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed footwear, fire-resistant and/or high-visibility clothing, and hearing protection
