Strategy & Analytics Associate
Job Description
About the Role
The Global Strategy & Planning team at Uber Eats shapes the long-term direction of our marketplace and helps teams around the world execute against a unified strategy. We identify growth opportunities, define where Uber Eats should play, and build the insights that guide decisions across product, commercial, and market teams.
Within this team, the Selection Strategy & Intelligence pod helps Uber Eats understand its restaurant and merchant selection opportunity by benchmarking our marketplace, assessing competitive positioning, and quantifying where we can expand, densify, or strengthen our offering.
As a Strategy & Analytics Associate, you will turn complex data, market signals, and ambiguous business questions into clear strategic recommendations. You will lead analyses, build decision-making frameworks, develop competitive intelligence metrics, and craft executive-ready narratives that help teams prioritize opportunities and take action. This role requires strong analytical judgment, SQL fluency, clear communication, and the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Strategic Analysis: Quantify market potential, merchant value, and competitive positioning to guide business decisions.
- Own Competitive Intelligence: Develop metrics to benchmark merchant selection, identifying gaps and expansion opportunities.
- Solve Ambiguous Problems: Use exploratory analysis, market sizing, and forecasting to turn open-ended questions into structured insights.
- Craft Executive Narratives: Synthesize findings into high-impact dashboards, visualizations, and presentations for leadership.
- Drive Cross-Functional Impact: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to shape roadmaps and translate data into action.
- Innovate & Scale: Leverage new data sources, advanced analytical methods, and AI-enabled tools to accelerate intelligence work.
Your Profile
- Experience: 2+ years in a quantitative, insights-driven role (e.g., strategy, analytics, consulting, or marketplace operations).
- Technical Skills: Strong SQL proficiency is required; familiarity with Python or working with unstructured/web-scraped data is a strong plus.
- Analytical Power: Proven ability to build data models, size markets, forecast opportunities, and work with large, complex datasets.
- Communication: Exceptional data storytelling skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and present clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Execution: Comfort with ambiguity, sharp problem-solving skills, and a rigorous approach to ensuring data accuracy.
