Primary Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival; provide spa orientation and offer amenities such as water, robes, towels, slippers, and refreshments
- Escort guests to and from treatment rooms and answer general questions regarding the spa and property
- Maintain cleanliness of reception areas, treatment rooms, sauna and steam rooms, restrooms, locker rooms, fitness center, and lounge areas
- Stock and replenish towels, linens, supplies, and amenities throughout the spa; maintain the linen closet in a clean and orderly manner
- Respond to guest requests pertaining to spa cleanliness, amenities, and linens; resolve guest concerns within scope of authority and refer matters to management as appropriate
- Report needed repairs, maintenance issues, safety concerns, and unusual circumstances to management immediately
- Assist with beverage preparation and service, restocking of hospitality stations, and upkeep of lounge areas
- Log and return lost-and-found items in accordance with spa procedures
- Comply with all safety policies, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, and hazardous material (HAZMAT) handling procedures
Qualifications
- Prior housekeeping or attendant experience in a hotel or spa environment preferred; no formal education required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to a high level of guest satisfaction
- Professional demeanor and the ability to exercise discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information
- Ability to perform basic math and to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Regular, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
- Availability to work varying schedules, including weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts, consistent with the business needs of the resort
- Completion of all required training, including proper handling and disposal of sharps
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The Spa Attendant regularly stands and walks for sustained periods and works at a quick pace. The position frequently requires reaching, stooping, crouching, pushing and pulling carts or equipment, and exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly. The work environment includes heat and humidity typical of a spa setting, exposure to cleaning chemicals and laundry equipment noise, and a variety of aromas. Non-slip, oil-resistant footwear is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
