
Senior Manager – Product Governance (AENB)
Job Description
The AENB Strategic Planning Team owns strategic planning process for AENB and focuses on enabling American Express to build products and services that are both innovative and compliant with banking regulations as well as established policies and standards.
The AENB Strategic Planning & Risk Governance team is looking for a Senior Manager, Product Governance, that will be responsible for the execution of product governance processes across AENB, including products inventory management, new products, and change governance. The role focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance, strong risk controls, and effective coordination across stakeholders.
How will you make an impact in this role?
Support the implementation and execution of the AENB Products governance in alignment with the policy, standards and regulatory expectations.
Assist in New Product Approval (NPA) and change governance execution, including scoping and categorization, coordinating legal entity approvals.
Partner closely with teams across risk pillars and control management to facilitate end-to-end governance and improve coordination to support bank approval processes.
Support end-to-end product inventory processes, including inventory data maintenance through periodic refreshes, data quality checks and stakeholder approvals.
Contribute to Product Inventory tooling solution to enhance user interfaces and workflows, as well as supporting system integrations with enterprise risk frameworks and platforms.
Develop high-quality deliverables (including but not limited to presentations and reporting materials) for leadership, governance forums, and cross-functional partners.
Proactively identify and address risks and process inefficiencies or gaps.
- Operate with agility and responsiveness in a dynamic environment, often managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
6+ years’ proven experience and specializing in risk management, compliance, audit, or product management, with strong understanding of product lifecycle and governance processes.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
Strong analytical, data management, and problem-solving skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to work across cross-functional teams and influence outcomes.
- Strong learning agility, attention to details and ability to work across business partners in productive and efficient manner.
- Proficiency in building senior-level presentations (PowerPoint); strong storytelling, visual, and written communication skills.
- Impeccable integrity with the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Process automation or tooling experience is a plus.
