Are you ready to turn financial insight into operational impact? Join Hitachi Energy as a Plant Finance Controller and become a trusted partner to plant and operations leadership. In this high-visibility role, you’ll help shape business performance at the Reynosa plant by connecting financial strategy, cost discipline, compliance, and operational execution.

You’ll lead core finance activities across planning, forecasting, reporting, cost analysis, inventory control, internal controls, and compliance with Mexican fiscal and customs regulations, including IMMEX, VAT, OEA, APA, and Safe Harbor requirements. Your work will help leaders make confident, data-based decisions that improve profitability, strengthen efficiency, and support sustainable growth.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the business, challenging assumptions, translating data into action, and influencing outcomes across the full value chain. You’ll collaborate with Operations, Commercial, Finance, and external partners while supporting investment decisions, CAPEX initiatives, continuous improvement, and strong governance.

If you’re energized by complex manufacturing environments, cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to lead with both precision and purpose, this is your opportunity to make finance a true driver of performance.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Partner with the Plant Manager and leadership team to drive financial and operational performance.

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and plant performance tracking.

  • Analyze costing, margins, variances, manufacturing efficiency, and inventory performance to deliver actionable insights.

  • Support CAPEX, automation, investment decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Manage site accounting, general ledger accuracy, standard costing, and internal control processes.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits, including SAT, Social Security, Customs, EY, and KPMG.

  • Ensure compliance with Mexican fiscal, customs, IMMEX, VAT, OEA, APA, Safe Harbor, GAAP, SOX, and company requirements.

  • Coach, develop, and support direct reports to build capability and strengthen team performance.

  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.

  • Solid experience in plant controlling, manufacturing finance, cost accounting, or financial leadership within an industrial environment.

  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal controls, GAAP, and SOX compliance.

  • Experience with Mexican fiscal and customs regulations, including IMMEX, VAT, OEA, APA, and Safe Harbor processes.

  • Ability to analyze complex financial and operational data and translate findings into business recommendations.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, coaching, and stakeholder management skills across plant and executive leadership levels.
