We’re seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to support Western and Burrard Terminals Operations. In this role, you’ll develop execution-ready plans that support safe, reliable, and efficient operations across critical assets, provide guidance, mentorship, and quality oversight to junior planners while helping elevate overall planning discipline and execution readiness. Working cross-functionally, you’ll help reduce risk, improve readiness, and enable successful field execution.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; a trade certificate, diploma, or degree in a relevant technical field such as engineering is preferred

  • 10 years of experience in maintenance planning or work management within pipelines, midstream, refining, or industrial operations.

  • Strong working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA; experience with Fieldglass is an asset.

  • Solid understanding of pipeline and/or fixed‑plant mechanical asset classes.

  • Demonstrated experience planning work in regulated and safety‑critical environments.

  • Strong ability to sequence work, estimate labor, and define execution requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed maintenance plans for P2 to P5 corrective, preventive, integrity, and regulatory work across pipeline and terminal assets.

  • Define job scope, task sequencing, labor requirements, materials, tools, permits, and contractor support, and coordinate required materials and services to ensure execution readiness and minimize delays.

  • Ensure work orders and job packages are complete, accurate, and ready for scheduling and field execution.

  • Manage work orders in SAP S/4HANA, maintaining high data quality, consistency, and adherence to work management processes.

  • Conduct site visits, field walkdowns, and workplace observations as needed to identify task-level risks and support safe, executable validate safe, practical execution plans.

  • Maintain and improve job plans and task lists using work order history, planning feedback, and field insights.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior planners, including reviewing job plans and reinforcing planning standards and best practices.

  • Supporting complex work, driving continuous improvement, and standardizing planning practices across Burrard and Western Terminals.

Location and other Key details:

  • Location: This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W

  • Hours of work are a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field locations as required.

  • This position is a safety sensitive role
