The Quality Assurance Inspector helps keep operations safe, compliant, and reliable through daily inspections, accurate reporting, quality audits, and asset integrity planning. This role plays a key part in strengthening inspection strategies, supporting repairs, and ensuring assets perform at their best.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineering OR
Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology
Preference will be given to candidates who have the following but not mandatory to apply:
2 Years of QA/QC related experience with project management skills
API 510/570/653 ceritifcations
ASBA IPV or IBPV certifications
CWB Lev.2 with W59, ASME Sec IX, & B31.3 endorsements
Knowledge of non-destructive testing methods

Responsibilities:
Contribute to the organization’s Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) journey by promoting learning, strengthening safety culture, and participating in incident investigations to drive prevention and continuous improvement
Steward and support the Integrity Management System (QA‑IMS), ensuring consistent application of OEMS processes, corporate technical standards, compliance requirements, and best practices
Lead and execute field inspections, inspection planning, compliance management (including deferrals), and inspection activities during routine maintenance, outages, and turnarounds
Develop, review, and optimize RBI‑based asset strategies, including inspection intervals, scopes, and repair plans to maintain asset integrity throughout the operating cycle
Conduct quality surveillance and participate in internal and external audits to verify adherence to regulatory and corporate standards
Prepare, review, and maintain accurate, audit‑ready inspection documentation, inspection reports in ALIM and SharePoint
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to analyze reliability issues, identify long‑term static equipment improvement opportunities, and implement advanced inspection technologies to enhance asset performance and MTCE effectiveness
Location and other Key details:
You will work out of Suncor Base Plant in Fort McMurray, Alberta
The shift schedule is Monday-Friday with the flexibility to support extended shifts as required
This position is safety sensitive as well as security sensitive
If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provide
A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record is required
