The Regional Supplier Lifecycle Manager leads the management of qualified suppliers providing packaging components to the North America region. This role partners with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure quality, supply continuity, compliance, risk management, service, sustainability, and cost objectives are met.
The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on leader with deep expertise in packaging components, supplier quality, and regulated manufacturing. This individual brings strong technical judgment, a data-driven approach, and the ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver quality, service, and business results.
This role also provides leadership to a regional team supporting supplier lifecycle activities and performance improvement. The successful candidate will be an effective people leader who can prioritize work, develop talent, drive accountability, and collaborate across quality, procurement, operations, and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Lifecycle Management
- Manage the lifecycle of qualified packaging component suppliers across the region, ensuring continuity of supply and compliance with quality, regulatory, operational, and contractual requirements.
- Provide lifecycle oversight for packaging component categories such as bottles, closures, blisters, vials, stoppers, syringes, labels, cartons, flexible materials, cans and related component systems.
Performance & Risk Management
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs, scorecards, and business reviews to identify trends, assess risk, and support supply reliability.
- Identify quality, supply, and operational risks within the supplier base and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to implement mitigation plans.
- Manage escalated supplier issues, including root cause analysis, CAPA development, and follow-through on corrective actions.
- Serve as the regional point of contact for packaging component supplier relationship management, building effective partnerships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate supplier business reviews and continuous improvement discussions focused on packaging component quality, delivery, responsiveness, and service.
- Partner with regional and global stakeholders to align supplier strategies, technical requirements, and performance expectations.
- Lead initiatives that reduce defects, improve delivery performance, and advance cost savings and sustainability goals.
- Lead and develop the regional supplier lifecycle team, including priority setting, coaching, and performance management.
- Support supplier and internal readiness for regulatory and quality audits, ensuring packaging component suppliers and the business meet evolving GMP and compliance requirements.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide leadership to the regional supplier lifecycle team by setting clear priorities, driving accountability, and fostering collaboration across sites and functions.
- Develop team capability through coaching, feedback, and talent development to build technical depth, strengthen succession pipelines, and support employee growth.
What we are Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Packaging, Supply Chain, Quality, or a related technical field required; advanced degree preferred.
- 8–12 years of experience in supplier quality, packaging components, manufacturing, supply chain, or vendor management.
- Experience working in regulated environments, including GMP and quality systems, with familiarity in packaging components, supplier investigations, and change management.
- Previous people leadership or team leadership experience preferred, with the ability to influence across sites and functions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong understanding of packaging component quality, supplier quality principles, specifications, process controls, risk management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Technical knowledge of primary packaging components such as bottles, caps, closures, blisters, vials, stoppers, syringes, and related component systems is strongly preferred.
- Experience with root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and supplier performance management.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in using supplier metrics, scorecards, and performance data to drive decisions and prioritize actions.
- Ability to manage multiple suppliers, projects, and timelines across a regional footprint.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with executive presence.
